Bariatric Surgery for Obese

Nearly 2.8 millions died each year because of obesity related problems. Even the strong and rich countries like United States and Countries in Europe are having difficulty fighting obesity. What ever solutions they proposed, they always end up not solving the problem with obesity. The frightening scenario of obesity is that the of obese people rise up and nearly tripled, reaching 2.1 billion from 875 millions in just a matter of 33 years. The study was made from 1980 to 2013.

The solution could be solved back from the day that we were on our mother’s womb. A pregnant mother should limit and carefully chooses what she eats. There are many studies that show that obesity is somehow related to what your mother ate when you’re still at her womb. If your mother commonly ate at fastfood  chains,  then there is a tendency that you may have hard time resisting junk, fatty, and rich in sugar foods.
There are many serious diseases that are associated with obesity including high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, cardio vascular disease, and some type of cancer.

Exercise and taking diet pills are the most common type of losing weight. Exercise is a slow method of losing weight while taking diet pills is the shortcut way of losing weight. Although exercise is a slow method, you can assure that you’ll not deal with extra loose skin after you lose weight.
But what about if you are obese? Diet and Exercise might be not enough,  weight loss surgery might be your best and most effective method. There is also a new method of losing weight which is called Bariatric surgery.

Bariatric surgery involves 3 phase:
Gastric Banding – this phase reduces the amount of food needed on individual to feel full.
Gastric By Pass – this involves digesting system pass to stomach.
Sleeve Gastrectomy – this phase involves removing of certain portion of stomach

Although Bariatric Surgery is expensive, costing about $25,000, there are lots of evidences that shows that the patients who undergo Bariatric Surger have 3 times more likely to show improvements in signs of metabolic syndrome.

Warning! Why Doing Exercise Can Harm You

Some women are actively searching for best pills for women and complement it with excessive exercise. Read this article so that you'll have an idea of what wrong things you are doing to your weightloss campaign.

We all know that regular exercise is the key to good health, but apparently too much of it can also do harm. According to two new recent studies, too much exercise can be too dangerous and can give you heart problem that might lead to stroke.

One decade long research that was published in heart journal looked at more than 1000 patients  that was diagnosed with heart disease.  Of course, the least physical one’s are found out to be two times more to develop heartattack or stroke compared to those who are physically active, but the most alarming concern that german researcher’s found out was that those who engaged in strenuous exercise was twice more likely to die of heartattack or stroke compared to those people that do moderate exercise.

Older people shoudn’t be the only one who should be aware of this information. Younger one’s are also in danger of developing heart problem if they are regularly doing strenuous exercise. The argument was backuped by the second research that was also published by heart journal. Swedish researchers periodically record the study with 44,ooo participants for over twelve years. They found out that people who exercise for more than five hours a week have nineteen percent more likely to develop irregular heart rhythm than those people who do exercise moderately.

According to medical news today, people who aged more than sixty and perform less intense exercise like walking will  thirteen percent less likely to develop heart condtion compared to people that do not do exercise at all

Saying this, Center for DiseaseControl and Prevention point out that more exercise means more health benefits, however even if exercise is proven to be beneficial to human health, you lose this benefits when you prolong and do extensive exercise.

A medical professional mentioned about an org named American Heart Asscioation that post exercise guidelines to their website about their recommended exercise which are half hour of moderate cardio five days a week and moderate muscle strengthening for two days a week.

The Danger of JellyFish to Humans

It’s summer time, I’m sure you are very eager to go to beach and use your cheap boracay package voucher  that you obtained from groupon sites. It’s really a good idea  to paddle, but you should also be careful because there are lots of danger that you may encounter at the beach, like jellyfish. Jellyfish stings are  very dangerous. It can paralyze a person and may lead to death if not taken quick medication. This is the case that recently happened to a Filipina artist named Anne Curtis, she was stung by a box jellyfish. Why you should be very cautious about jellyfish? According to the records, in Philippines alone, there’s an estimated of 20- 40 people dies annually because of the venom from jelly fish.

Treatment of Stings

First, the tentacles should be remove in the body of the victim, it should be taken off with the use of towel or hand gloves. Vinegar was once believed to be very effective in neutralizing the effect of sting, however, nowadays, there’s a sign that vinegar could amplify the effects of jellyfish sting to the human body.

In 2012,  Dr. Angel Yanagihara had a painful experience with the jellyfish that made her come up with the development of inhibitor that is very effective to the lethal venom of jellyfish. The inhibitor was called RMATRIX, the ‘R’ is for the National Institutes of Health’s Research Centers in Minority Institutions, which JABSOM belongs to. MATRIX is short for “multidisciplinary and translational research infrastructure expansion.”

The inhibitor has zinc gluconate which is different from the zinc oxide, which is present in cream and used by the beach visitors.

Dr. Yanagihara’s was also developed the inhibitor to remove the pain and control the swelling. As of today, they are doing clinical research and distribution of product in the market.

Dr. Yanagihara’s research on box jellyfish could lead to other life-saving breakthroughs on things like cell regeneration and treating septic shock.

Prevention

First and foremost, jellyfish is common in the seashore at summer time, this is because this is their mating time. If you can’t resist the summer heat, just be cautious and carefully pick the place where you’ll swim. Pick a resort where a net fence is present.

We should not hate and hunt those jellyfish, after all they are part of the marine ecosystem. Extinction of any species under the system will make the ecosystem unbalanced thus causing much trouble in the future.

WARNING: Caesarean Babies likelier to be Overweight Adults

Babies born by caesarean section are more likely to be overweight or obese as adults. The research shows that the oddity of being obese  or overweight is about 26 percent compared to those who were born by vaginal delivery.

The finding is actually based on a combined data of over 38,000 participants.

The researchers said that their finding is not yet  certain though there is a higher possibility that caesarean birthing really affect the body mass of an adult.

In my own opinion, caesarean section has nothing to do with obese adults, I mean, what’s the difference between a baby that was born by vaginal delivery against one by caesarean section. Vaginal delivery and caesarean are both methods that have always been employed by modern day medicine.
To back up my opinion, I have three factors on why a baby would be obese or overweight in his adult stage, all of which only come into play before or after birth but not during.
  • Environment – We are now in the computer age, the bad thing about this is we are facing a polluted environment. Pollution can also contribute to obesity (lack of oxygen in the air equals the body being less capable to metabolize).
  • The food which a mother is consuming while pregnant – Pregnant women should avoid vices like alcoholic drinks and cigarettes.
  • Food – different types of food that are available in the market, restaurant, or food chains are heavily full of preservatives. Preservatives can do harm to our bodies.  Maybe that is one of the reason why the human life span is shortening as times goes by.

I have suggestions on how a mother could prevent caesarean section:
  • Carefully pick the foods  – this method could be quite expensive as good food, especially organic ones, tend to be more costly than processed food.
  • Slowly trim down the diet – Starting on the 6th month, pregnant women should trim down their diet. This would help to not let her baby grow bigger and thus make her baby be ease to birth via vaginal canal.

Actually, there is a recent finding that caesarean babies have an increased risk of developing asthma although this shows more promise than the study where c-section makes a kid become an obese adult.
